Red Chana Masala Stew

Ingredients of Red Chana Masala Stew:

  • 250 gm red Chana washed and soaked in lukewarm (gunguna) water for 2 hours
  • 1 larger Onion diced
  • 2 medium red salad Tomato chopped
  • 2 green chilies chopped
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp grated Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
  • 1/3 tsp Chat masala
  • 1/3 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/3 spoon tamarind (imli) powder
  • 2 tbsp chopped green coriander leaves
  • 1/3 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Method for "Red Chana Masala Stew":

  1. Wash the soaked red chana twice. In a pressure cooker take chana and 2 cups water, salt and haldi powder.
  2. Bring to boil and keep on the gas for 2 minutes on flame.
  3. Switch off the flame and let it cool down.
  4. To the boiled Chana add rest of the ingredients. Mix properly. Pressure cook for 2 Whistler.
  5. When cool down open the cooker. Adjust the salt and gravy as per your requirement.
  6. Yummy yummy Chana Masala Stew without oil is ready to serve hot with Rice and Roti or as Chat.
