Kheer of Pumpkin(Kaddu)

Ingredients of Kheer of Pumpkin(Kaddu):

  • 250 gm red Pumpkin (Kaddu)
  • 1 litre boiled Milk
  • 100 gm grated Nolen Gur (Khajoor gud)
  • 1 tbsp Desi Ghee
  • 1 tbsp sugar (or more/less according to your taste for sweet)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp grated Mawa
  • 1 tbsp dry Coconut powder
  • 1 tbsp Cardamon powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped dry fruits
  • Some Saffron strands (Keshar) dipped in warm milk.(Optional)

Method for "Kheer of Pumpkin(Kaddu)":

  1. Wash and peel off the hard skin of the Pumpkin and grate finely.
  2. Take a heavy bottomed pan and heat the ghee. Fry the grated Pumpkin adding salt and sugar in low medium flame till all the water dried up.
  3. Now add milk and stirr continuously. When milk start boiling, add grated gud,Mawa and coconut powder.
  4. Stirr continuously to get a thick consistency you want.
  5. Mix Saffron and Cardamon powder to the Kheer. Garnish with chopped dry fruits and nuts.
  6. Yummy and delicious Kheer is ready to serve. Thanks ☺
